The Size of Life

Heidi Holloway’s Sole Exhibition with Argyle Fine Art Gallery

This show demonstrates the notion of “true to size” in its many bird depictions. Which ranges from the world’s smallest bird, Bee Hummingbird which are a delicate 1.5-2 inches in size, to the show’s largest piece (e.g., Canvas size of 48×60) of the Great Blue Heron, who can stand 44-54 inches tall with a wingspan of 66-79 inches. The show holds a varied range of birds of different scales.

By depicting the subject matter in realistic size, Heidi urges the viewer to consider the magnitude, power, and beauty that is held in viewing the subject just as it is. No blown up imagery, no filters, nor exaggerations. Pure and simple beauty and character lays within the realistic.
